Some people seem a bit confused about what a vegetarian eats.

One usual question is: what do you eat if you don´t eat meat, only lettuce, vegetables? What a boring diet you have! It sounds like nothing would be left to eat, but meat.

So to make it simple, vegetarian is a person who eats no meat, fish or poultry, as well as byproducts of them. Imagine out of it from thousands options that a vegetarian can take. Definitely this is not a diet of “vegetables” only.

There is an immense list of food including fresh vegetables, leafy greens, fruits, nuts, seeds, grains, roots, beans, cereal and much more.

+Types of Vegetarianism

Vegetarian

They don´t eat meat, fish or poultry. Their lifestyle is less strict than vegan.

Lacto ovo vegetarian:

They include dairy products such as milk, cheese, yogurt and eggs.

Lacto vegetarian

They exclude eggs, meat, fish and poutry, but consume dairy products.

Vegan

It is a lifestyle, a way to live in the world by respecting the ethics of animal´s rights. So, besides the restrict diet, which avoids eating even honey, the vegans don´t use or wear any animal products.

Raw foodism

It is a plant, whole grains and fruit-based diet, which is never heated above 115 degrees Fahrenheit (46º Celcius). They eat fresh fruit and vegetables, sprouts, seeds, and nuts. They also consume cold-pressed oils and some grains. But, there are other variations of the raw food diet.

Fruitarian diet

They eat only fruits and vegetables also classified as fruits, such as tomato, eggplant, zucchini and avocado. They also eat seeds and nuts.

Macrobiotics

The most known aspect of this diet is how they see the power of food and how it affects wellness. Each meal has to be chewed throughly and they should not overeating. They eat locally grown fruits, vegetables and legumes, seaweed, whole grain cereals and soy.
